Keeping יהוה’s Holy Days
Yahwah’s holy days are meant to be observed and celebrated, just as the early Assembly did. From the Feasts of Passover to Tents, Scripture shows that these appointed times matter to Yahwah—and they should matter to us today. Keeping His holy convocations is an act of love, obedience, and dedication to draw closer to Him.

Leviticus 23:1-2 - Keeping His Holy Days

“And Yahwah spake unto Moses, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, Concerning the feasts of Yahwah, which ye shall proclaim to be holy convocations, even these are my feasts.”

Thoughts: According to this scripture, we are to gather together during Yahwah’s holy days. The word “convocations” is the Hebrew word:

4744 mik-raw´; from 7121; something called out, i.e. a public meeting (the act, the persons, or the place); also a rehearsal:—assembly, calling, convocation, reading.

John 7:1-10 - Mashiach Keeping The Feast Days

“After these things Yahwah walked in Galilee: for he would not walk in Jewry, because the Jews sought to kill him. Now the Jews’ feast of tabernacles was at hand. His brethren therefore said unto him, Depart hence, and go into Judaea, that thy disciples also may see the works that thou doest. For there is no man that doeth any thing in secret, and he himself seeketh to be known openly. If thou do these things, shew thyself to the world. For neither did his brethren believe in him. Then Yahwah said unto them, My time is not yet come: but your time is alway ready. The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil. Go ye up unto this feast: I go not up yet unto this feast; for my time is not yet full come. When he had said these words unto them, he abode still in Galilee. But when his brethren were gone up, then went he also up unto the feast, not openly, but as it were in secret.”

Thoughts: Did Mashiach keep the Feasts? Yes! Even when His own people were looking to kill Him before His time, He still attended the “Holy convocation” as the law states.

Acts 2:1 - A Feast Day On Pentecost

“And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.”

Thoughts: Did the Apostles keep the Feast days holy after His death? Yes! They were having a “Holy convocation” when the Holy Spirit came. In fact, Yahwah waited 50 days after Pesach for the Feast of Shavuot to pour out His Holy Spirit. But yet, His law and His days have no meaning now after His death? It clearly means a lot to Yahwah for Him to wait until that appointed time to send the Comforter.

Acts 18:20-21 - Apostle Paul Keeping The Feasts

“When they desired him to tarry longer time with them, he consented not; But bade them farewell, saying, I must by all means keep this feast that cometh in Jerusalem: but I will return again unto you, if Elohim will. And he sailed from Ephesus.”

Thoughts: Maybe Shavuot was the last time the Feast days mattered? No! Paul, after his conversion, continued to observe the Feast days. Yahwah’s days mattered to the early assembly. They should matter to us, all of them!

Colossians 2:16 - Let No Heathen Judge You

“Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:”

Thoughts: In context, let no heathen judge us for keeping Yahwah’s feast days or his law. Paul kept His law. His writings, including this and others, must not be taken otherwise. This was written to Gentiles in a heathen/paganistic culture that did not keep the Law of Yahwah at all.

Zechariah 14:16-17 - His Days When He Returns

“And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, Yahwah of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the King, Yahwah of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain.”

Thoughts: Two thousand years later, do His days matter? When Yahwah comes back, they will matter according to Zechariah 14. His days mattered in the Old Testament, the New Testament, to the Mashiach, to the Apostles, to the early Assembly; they will matter when He comes back. Why do they not matter to us now?

John 14:15 - Why Should We Keep Them?

“If ye love me, keep my commandments.”

Thoughts: We should want to keep Yahwah’s holy days holy out of love for Him. He gave us appointed times. He wants our full attention because He wants a close relationship with us. Yes, we can and should make time every day for Him. However, in our busy lives, we should make time to set apart His days as special times to draw closer to Him. Obedience should be done out of love for Yahwah most of all.

We proclaim one name as given to the disciples and early assembly on the Day of Pentecost. The only Name that was prophesied in the Old Blood Covenant that will be restored in the last days, the Name of יהוה. Not jesus, or any "shua" name such as yeshua, yahshua etc. Take His Name in baptism as Peter preached in Acts chapter 2.

Malachi 1:11 "For from the rising of the sun even unto the going down of the same my name shall be great among the Gentiles; and in every place incense shall be offered unto my name, and a pure offering: for my name shall be great among the heathen, saith יהוה of hosts."
